The bulk of this collection documents local union relations with individual companies, with some conference records and general files. Materials include correspondence, contractual agreements, grievances, job descriptions and classifications. This collection also includes 4 meeting minute books of Local 1028 (Minneapolis, Minn., 1937-1980), a CIO charter, a Steel Workers Organizing Committee certificate, photographic portraits of district directors, a scrapbook of photographs, and eight newspaper clipping scrapbooks covering the 1946 and 1959 steel strikes and the campaign visit of John F. Kennedy in 1960.
